This paper presents the calculation of the torsional vibration of the turbogenerate of the Plomin 2 thermal power plant. At the beginning, basic theoretical considerations related to vibration in general and especially with torsional vibrations were presented as subjects of interest in this paper. The basic terms used in this field of mechanics are shown. Also, for the purpose of understanding the topic presented, one general paroturbine plant is described with all its constituent parts. Practical part of this work, ie the calculation of the torsional vibrations of the analyzed tuboagregate, was performed in two ways. The first way is through a created Python code for that purpose. Another way is using the Femap (software). Based on the results of their own values of torsional vibrations, a comparison was made between them, as well as a comparison with values from the specialist analysis of the vibration of the Plomin 2 thermal power plant. Finally, the type of measuring equipment and the location of the vibration sensor are suggested. Certain simplifications of geometry of turbo aggregates have been taken in this paper, which did not have a great influence on the ultimate value.
