Abstract (english)	This paper deals with the topic of economics of HVDC electricity transmission. At the beginning of the paper we talk about the development of HVDC systems, components, and the principle of HVDC technology. The advantages and disadvantages of HVDC technology over HVAC technology are analyzed. LCC and VSC converters are described as one of the most important elements of HVDC transmission.
