Abstract
U diplomskom radu obraĎena je tema iskorištavanja otparenog prirodnog plina za pogon LNG tankera. Ukratko su objašnjeni i shematski prikazani propulzijski sustavi LNG tankera. Objašnjeni su stari sustavi poput parnih turbina, ali i novi propulzijski sustavi koji se koriste unazad nekoliko godina, poput četverotaktnih i dvotaktnih DF motora. Objašnjene su i druge mogućnosti rješavanja problema otparenog plina poput izgaranja u GCU te ponovnog ukapljivanja. Opisani su i propulzijski trendovi kod ove vrste plovila. Uz to, objašnjene su metode ukapljivanja prirodnog plina te spremnici tereta na LNG tankerima. U radu su opisane i operacije na brodu poput ukrcaja i iskrcaja tereta, inertiranja, grijanja te hlaĎenja spremnika LNG tankera.
Abstract (english)
The paper deals with the topic of the use of LNG boil-off gas for propulsion of LNG tankers. Schematic diagrams of LNG tanker propulsion systems are also briefly explained. Old systems such as steam turbines are explained, as well as new propulsion systems which have been in use for several years, such as four-stroke and two-stroke dual-fuel engines. Other options for resolving boil-off problem such as combustion in the GCU and reliquefaction are also explained. Propulsion trends in these types of vessels are also described. In addition, methods of liquefying natural gas are explained and cargo tanks on LNG tankers are described. The paper also describes ship operations such as loading and unloading cargo, inerting, heating and cooling of LNG tankers.
