In this paper it was necessary to calculate and design an industrial screw air compressor with an output pressure of 8 [bar] and a capacity of 25 [m3/min]. Also, it was necessary to calculate the power and select a propeller motor with a speed of 1500 min-1. After the calculated screw compressor of this power and selection of the electric motor, it was necessary to determine the amount of waste heat and the possible ways of using it. Due to the capacitance of the compressor, a screw with a diameter of D = 310 [mm] and the length of the screw L = 465 [mm] is dimensioned, both screws inside the compressor have the same outer diameter and length. The power of the electric motor was obtained through the power required for the adiabatic compression and through the assumed mechanical degree and the degree of usefulness of the engine and transmission, with a power output of 174 [kW] and the selected electric motor having a output power of 200 [kW]. In this paper we have also been able to see ways of exploiting waste heat generated by increasing the air temperature due to the compression we divided in two ways: heat utilization by air heating and heat utilization by heating the sanitary water whose heat flow was ̇ = 95 [kW]. We decided to use that amount of waste heat through an air / water heat exchanger whose heat bearer was air. We calculated that heat exchanger required for the heat change needs inner surface of A2 = 0,4 (m2) .
