Abstract
Ovaj završni rad opisuje način korištenja energije morskih valova pomoću Wells turbine. Turbina je namijenjena za rad u Jadranskom moru te su zbog toga opisani maritimni uvjeti iz čega se zaključuje da je najpovoljnije mjesto za postavljanje turbine južni Jadran. Wells turbina konstruirana je pomoću 3D CAD računalnog softvera. Zbog potrebe za što manjom masom, rotor je izrađen sa šupljim lopaticama i tankim stjenkama zbog čega je on najkritičniji dio turbine. Analiza naprezanja i progiba rotora napravljena je u računalnom softveru „FEMAP“. Analizom su se dobila naprezanja koji su u dopuštenim granicama. Dijelovi turbine izrađeni su metodom SLA 3D printanja zbog kompleksne geometrije i radi što manje mase. Prikazan je smještaj turbine i svih popratnih dijelova u zračnom tunelu prilikom laboratorijskog ispitivanja. Usporedbom dobivenih snaga Wells turbine u idealnom i realnom slučaju vidimo da je to turbina sa niskom iskoristivošću i pri brzini od 15 m/s, što je pretpostavljena brzina strujanja zraka izazvana valovima u jadranskom moru, Wells turbina proizvodi 17,73 W što se može iskoristiti za napajanje malih potrošača.
Abstract (english)
This paper describes the ways of harvesting energy from the sea waves using Wells turbine. The turbine is meant for operating in the Adriatic sea and because of that maritime conditions were described from which we can conclude that the best region to put Wells turbine is south Adriatic. Wells turbine was constructed using 3D CAD software. Due to the need for less mass, the rotor was constructed with hollow blades and thin walls and because of that it is critical part of the turbine. Stress analysis was made using “FEMAP”. Stress analysis gave results which are lower than maximum allowed stress. Parts of the turbine were made using SLA 3D printing method due to its complex geometry and need for less mass. In this paper complete Wells turbine setup during laboratory testing is shown. Comparing results of calculated power in real and ideal cases, we conclude that this is low efficiency turbine and under wind speed of 15 m/s which is assumed speed generated by sea waves in the Adriatic sea. Wells turbine produces 17,73 W which is enough to power up small electric consumers.
