The topics of this final paper titled „Properties and application of aluminium alloys in mechanical engineering“ implies that the paper is based on the description of the properties of aluminium and its alloys with clarification related to their application in mechanical engineering and other manufacturing industries. The introduction describes aluminium as a chemical element, explaining its position in the periodic system and its apperance in nature. Then, it is briefly described the discovery of aluminium and the development of its production process through history to modern production today. The following are the features of aluminium, and it is emphasized that aluminium is best known for its good strenght, low density an good corosion. Aluminium properties include division off unalloyed aluminium and aluminium alloys and explained properties for each group. The diagram of the most common alloys is shown and they can be used to determine the properties off diferent alloys. The mutual recognition af alloys is described in everyday use. And at the end of the paper, the use of aluminium and its alloys in everyday life is mentioned, and conclusion emphasizes that aluminium with his alloys is increasingly present in mechanical engineering and in the manufacturing industries and falls into very top of the materials used by this industries.
