The aim of this thesis is to design a technological process for producing the lower part of the piston in a specific annual quantity according to the design and with the time requirement that the part is produced on a daily basis. The design of the technological process begins with the analysis of the part that is being produced which includes analysis from a structural standpoint and analysis from a technological standpoint. After that, it is necessary to determine the possible shapes of the input material and to determine the optimal shape of the final product by techno-economic analysis. The necessary surplus of processing material was defined and a draft of the input material was made. Next step is defining the concept of technological process which includes calculation of allowed average processing time per part, specifying the number of necessary processing operations and making operations drafts. The following is to define each processing operation and to determine the processing equipment and clamping device for each operation. In that regard, drafts for each individual operation are made as well as selection of cutting tools, processing regimes, measuring equipment etc. After defining all operations, the development of fundamental technological documentation (operations list, operations sheets and tool list) is made. According to the assignment, it is necessary to carry out the processing simulation using the CAM program package. For that purpose “Mastercam” program is chosen.
