Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad se bavi materijalima u dentalnoj medicini, njihovim svojstvima, primjenom i napretkom kroz povijest i danas. Struktura rada sastoji se od povijesnog razvoja zasebnih vrsta materijala: metala, polimera, keramika, s fokusom na njihove prednosti i nedostatke. Nakon toga prelazi se na materijale korištene unutar dentalne medicine danas, opisujući unutarnju strukturu i svojstva. Nadalje, razrađuju se zahtjevi koje moraju ispunjavati materijali unutar dviju različitih disciplina dentalne medicine: ortodoncije i zubne protetike, s naglaskom na nemetalne materijale. Kako je izradi naprava obiju disciplina prethodi izrada otisaka i modela čeljusti pacijenta, sukladno tome otisni materijali također su obuhvaćeni. Na kraju obrađeni su trendovi razvoja materijala unutar dentalne medicine te zašto je važna i čemu je doprinijela njihova primjena. Obuhvaćeni novi materijali su NobelPearl™, biokeramike s naglaskom na Biodentine i termoplastični materijal BioHPP.
Abstract (english)
This master's thesis deals with materials in dental medicine, their properties, application and progress throughout history. The structure od the work consists of the historical development of separate types of materials: metals, polymers, ceramics, with a focus on their advantages and disadvantages. After that it moves to the materials used in dental medicine today, describing the internal structure and properties. Furthermore, the requirements that need to be fulfilled by the materials within the two different disciplines of dental medicine will be described, ones of orthodontics and dental prosthetics with an emphasis on non-metallic materials. As the fabrication of devices of both disciplines is preceded by the making of impressions and models of patients jaw, impression materials will also be covered accordingly. Finally, trends in the development of materials within dental medicine will be discussed, as well as why it is important and what contributed to its application. New materials include NobelPearl™, bioceramics with an emphasis on Biodentine, and thermoplastic material BioHPP.
