Abstract
U radu je opisan način rada dizelskih motora i njihova upotreba za pogon automobila, objašnjeno je zašto koristimo turbopuhala i kakav tip prednabijanja je najčešće korišten kod automobila. Prikazane su prednosti i nedostaci kod korištenja turbopuhala za podizanje snage. Opisan je program za simulaciju motora pomoću kojega su napravljene usporedbe performansi za motor s atmosferskim usisom i motor s turbopuhalom. Objašnjen je ventil za rasterećenje turbine i proračun jednostavnog mehaničkog pokretača ventila pri čemu je određena potrebna protočna površina ventila s obzirom na tlak prednabijanja. Prikazana je važnost hladnjaka zraka nakon stlačivanja zraka na kompresoru i važnost odabira pravilne veličine i karakteristike turbopuhala.
Abstract (english)
This Master thesis is covering working principle of diesel engines in automotive applications. It is explained why turbochargers are used and which type of forced induction is best suited for vehicles. Pros and cons of turbochargers for increasing engine power are given. With a help of engineering simulation software numerous tests have been conducted to compare performances of naturally aspirated and turbocharged engine. Calculation of a simple mechanical actuator for wastegate is explained, where the required flow area of the valve with respect to the intake manifold pressure is determined. The importance of the air cooler after compressing the air on the compressor and the importance of choosing the correct size and characteristics of the turbocharger are shown.
