Abstract
U ovom radu je obrađen pojam radioaktivnosti te klasifikacija radioaktivnog otpada s obzirom na razinu opasnosti. Izdvojeni su izvori radioaktivnosti i nastajanje radioaktivnog otpada. Razrađeni su mehanizmi dolaska radioaktivnog otpada u okoliš od utjecaja nuklearnih elektrana, radioaktivnog medicinskog otpada do testiranja nuklearnog oružja. Tema ovog rada je gospodarenje radioaktivnim otpadom, gdje se razrađuju pravilni postupci odlaganja, obrade, recikliranja i transporta otpada. Proučen je utjecaj seizmičkih aktivnosti na odlagališta radioaktivnog otpada i spremnost nuklearnih elektrana na potrese.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with the concept of radioactivity and the classification of radioactive waste with regards to the levels of its danger. Sources of radioactivity and generation of radioactive waste have been singled out. The paper elaborates on mechanisms of the arrival of radioactive waste in the environment from the impact of nuclear power plants, radioactive medical waste to testing of nuclear weapons. The main topic of this paper is radioactive waste management, discussing the proper procedures for disposal, reprocessing, recycling, and transport of waste. We investigated the impact of seismic activities on radioactive waste repositories and the readiness of nuclear power plants for the dangers of earthquakes.
