Abstract
Na plovilima se počnu nakupljati organizmi čim se urone u vodu, odnosno počne se stvarati obraštaj koji se smatra najvećim problemom u pomorskoj industriji. Već tokom antičkih vremena su se shvatile posljedice tog biološkog fenoma pa se u skladu sa saznanjima počela razvijati i zaštita. Prvi oblici zaštite bili su od katrana, voska, olova i sl. dok su se kasnije upotrebljavali organokositreni spojevi, premazi na bazi bakra i drugi spojevi s biocidima. Istraživanja su dokazala da takvi premazi nemaju utjecaj samo na organizme koji se nalaze na trupu broda i u njegovoj neposrednoj blizini, već im je utjecaj puno širi. S obzirom da se na taj način narušava morski ekosustav, počele su se razvijati nove optimalne metode s minimalnim učinkom na okoliš. Mehanizam djelovanja novijih metoda bazira se na oponašanju površina na kojima se obraštaj teže formira. To je rezultat mikro struktura i/ili kemijskog satava na samoj površini koji otežava adheziju organizama.
Abstract (english)
Organisms begin to accumulate on vessels as soon as they are immersed in water, apropos fouling begins to form, which is considered to be the biggest problem in the maritime industry. During ancient times, the consequences of this biological phenomenon were understood already, so in accordance with the knowledge, protection against it began to develop. The first forms of protection were made of tar, wax, lead, etc., while later organotin compounds, copper-based coatings and other compounds with biocides were used. Research has shown that such coatings not only affect the organisms found on the hull and in its immediate vicinity, but their impact is much broader. As the marine ecosystem is disrupted in this way, new optimal methods with minimal impact on the environment have begun to develop. The action mechanism of newer methods is based on the imitation of surfaces on which fouling will be more difficult to form. This is the result of micro structures and/or chemical compositions on the surface itself that make it difficult for organisms to adhere.
