The topic of this master´s thesis is asphalt carrier cargo system. Project of the heating cargo system and loading and discharging system needed to be designed for asphalt carrier with load capacity of 15000 tons. At the beginning of thesis, basic properties of bitumen, production methods as well as examples of bitumen application in practice were presented. Basic dimensions of the ship were presented and described as well as characteristic macrospaces of the ship.The main engine and his properties were described as well as important individual parts of the engine systems were shown and described. In the fourth chapter non-structural cargo tanks were described in detail. The process of manufacturing and equipping tanks, transporting tanks from the assembly hall to the ship and assembling tanks on the ship´s structure using vertical supports and structural keys was presented and described. In the fifth chapter the thermal oil system that is used to heat the bitumen to the design temperature was described. The scheme of the thermal oil system was presented and the main components of the system were described as well as the process of oil distribution from the engine room to the heating coils in cargo tanks. In the sixth chapter specific heat losses were described and heat loss calculation was made where the heat required to maintain the bitumen at 250 °C was calculated. Chapters seven and eight described the loading and discharging system with main components of the system such as pipelines, pumps, valves and compensators. A calculation of the pump effort for the most distant section from the pump room was made and it was determined that the operating pressure of the pump is higher than the calculated pressure drop on the selected section and that the pump meets the criteria.
