Abstract
Otkrićem radioaktivnih elemenata započinje razvoj nuklearne tehnologije. Nuklearna tehnologija koristi se danas ponajviše u industriji i zdravstvu. Do danas je izgrađeno više stotina nuklearnih postrojenja i predložene su gradnje novih reaktora diljem svijeta što ukazuje na činjenicu da će nuklearna tehnologija razvijati još dugi niz godina. S povećanom primjenom također se javljaju i problemi. Strah od nuklearnih katastrofa zauvijek će biti prisutan ali s dodatnim razvojem vjerojatnosti će se drastično smanjivati. Nuklearna energija pruža pregršt prednosti i s odgovarajućim sigurnosnim mjerama pruža dobru alternativu fosilnim gorivima.
Abstract (english)
The discovery of radioactive elements begins the research of nuclear technology. Today nuclear technology is mostly used for industrial and medical purposes. To this day more then hundreds of nuclear reactors have been built and hundreds more are planned to be built all around the world which suggest the fact that nuclear technology will be researched for many years to come. With nuclear technology being used more every day new issues arise. The fear of a nuclear catastrophe will always be present but with further research the odds of that happening are getting slimmer. Nuclear technology delivers a variety of benefits and with the corresponding safety measures it shows it self as a good alternative to fossile fuels.
