Natural gas is a modern source of energy. Natural gas is a fossil fuel for which the demand is constantly growing because it emits less pollutants into the atmosphere during combustion in comparison with other fossil fuels. Natural gas is transported in gaseous state by gas pipelines or in liquid state by tankers through overseas transport. Therefore, in this thesis, the technology of tanks for transportation of liquefied natural gas is described and the assembly plan of the tank for storing liquefied natural gas has also been made. After the tanker arrives at the destination, it is necessary to do the regasification process in order to transport the fuel in question throughout gas pipelines to consumers, so the regasification technology is explained and the scheme of the regasification system has been made. The seawater flow required for the regasification of liquefied natural gas is calculated and the characteristics of the pumps are shown. The Republic of Croatia has its own Terminal for the reception of liquefied natural gas, therefore a technical overview of this Terminal on the island of Krk has been prepared.
