In the introduction, we describe the CNC machine through its history until today. This mode of production , where machines are govern by computers , is commonplace in modern industry , without which the company would not be competitive in todays market. We also explained that there are various types of numeric machine tools from CNC milling machine , CNC lathe , CNC drilling machine , CNC machines for laser cutting and laser engraving , etc. In addition we described machining center which is an upgrade from numerically controlled machine in regard to automatic exchange of tools and accessories. We also talked about the programming of machines , as well as coordinate system and reference points of the machine. Then we describe the laser, his way of working, characteristics and his implementation. The main characteristics of laser radiation are coherence , focus and monochromatic. Lasers are widely used in material cutting, drilling and welding processes. Because of the possibility of achieving high precision, except for material processing, lasers have found application in e.g. surgery. Market data show that the system of laser cutting is best payed of all laser systems. There is also laser cutting with oxygen , sublimation and melting. In addition to cutting, widely practiced is also an CNC laser engraving. In the application of laser worker should be protected from the negative impact of the laser .
