Abstract
U današnje vrijeme kad je riječ o sinkronizaciji u mobilnom svijetu pretežito se misli na sinkronizaciju podataka. Druga vrsta sinkronizacije je sinkronizacija vremena na uređajima. Često se javlja potreba da dva, ili više, uređaja ovise o zajedničkom vremenu. Zbog razlike kako uređaji mjere vrijeme i velikog odstupanja sata, mobilni uređaji nisu u stanju samostalno prikazati stvarno vrijeme. Iz tog razloga mobilni uređaji koriste neku vrstu sinkronizacije kako bi prikazali ispravno vrijeme. Android i iPhone uređaji se sinkroniziraju preko NTP protokola na vrijeme satelita. Prilikom sinkronizacije sata potrebno je obratiti pažnju na sljedeće probleme: infrastruktura, kašnjenje unutar mreže, kašnjenje uzrokovano procesima, odstupanje sata s vremenom, gubljenje paketa u mreži, skokovi u kašnjenju (i u mreži i u uređaju), održavanje veze između uređaja itd. U radu su korištene tri metode sinkronizacije: NTP, GPS i algoritam rukovanjem. Sve tri imaju svoje prednosti i nedostatke. Navedeni su načini implementacije i izračunata su odstupanja sata za sve tri metode.
Abstract (english)
Today synchronization in mobile world mostly means synchronization of data. Beside that there is also the synchronization of time and this thesis is about that. Quite often there is the need that two or more devices depend on the same time. Because of the difference in how the device measures time and high clock drift, mobile devices are not capable of presenting the real time. For that reason mobile devices use some kind of automatic synchronization to show the real time. Android and iPhone devices synchronize their local time using NTP protocol to the satellite time. In case of clock synchronization the problems are: infrastructure, network delay, device delay, offset, clock drift, package loss, spikes, connection and other. In thesis we used three different methods of synchronization: NTP, GPS and handshake algorithm. All of them have their pros and cons. We measure the offset and show different ways of implementation.
