Irrigation is one of the main features of agriculture and has been used for more than 5000 years. Historically, agriculture was the main economic and social foundation of society around the world, and it is still extremely important today. Two types of irrigation have been studied in this Bachelor thesis, which are most commonly used in agriculture, namely drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation. Drip irrigation is a type of irrigation where water is brought directly from the emitter to the plant and in this way water consumption is minimized. Sprinkler irrigation is similar to natural rainfall. Water is pumped through a pipe system and then sprayed onto the crops through rotating sprinkler heads. The hydraulic analysis of sprinkler irrigation system was designed for size requirements of Čepić Polje (Istra). The software used for this simulation was AFT Fathom 9.0 in which a model system was developed using the actual components found in the catalogs of manufacturers of pumps, pipes, gate valves and other components. The goal of this Bachelor thesis is to create a system that meets the requirements of sprinkler irrigation (uniformity of spraying discharge and moistening) and to ensure that the pipe system is safe and reliable. The results of this simulation are tabularly shown as volumetric flow rate, minimum and maximum pressure, speed and loss coefficient in pipes and sprayers.
