Abstract
Zbog jednostavne i jeftine proizvodnje polimeri su svakim danom sve rašieniji u uporabi. Zbog dobre otpornosti na kemikalije polimeri su zastupljeni i u proizvodnji ambalaže za razne medicinske proizvode. Samo neki od proizvoda koji su napravljeni od polimera, a koriste se u medicini su: jednokratne rukavice, sistemi za infuzije, vrećice za krv, vrećice za urin, razne vrste epruveta i šprice. Jedan od najvećih ekoloških izazova je onečišćenje polimerima. Kako bi se spriječilo onečišćenje koje može uzrokovati veliku štetu ljudskom zdravlju i ekosustavima potrebno je pravilno rukovati otpadom. U ovom radu opisane su vrste i uporaba polimera, ambalaža za medicinske proizvode i postupci proizvodnje polimerne ambalaže. U ovom radu navedene su vrste medicinskog otpada, načini zbrinjavanja medicinskog otpada, utjecaj na čovjeka i okoliš.
Abstract (english)
Due to their simple and inexpensive production, polymers are becoming increasingly widespread in use every day. Because of their good resistance to chemicals, polymers are also used in the production of packaging for various medical products. Some examples of products made from polymers used in medicine include: disposable gloves, infusion systems, blood bags, urine bags, various types of test tubes and syringes. One of the biggest environmental challenges is pollution caused by polymers. To prevent pollution that can cause significant harm to human helth and ecosystems, proper waste management is necessary. This paper describes that types and uses of polymers, packaging for medical products and the processes involved in the production of polymer packaging. It also outlines the types of medical waste, methods of medical waste management and their impact on humans and the environment.
