Abstract
U sklopu ovog završnog rada pojašnjena je uloga ram zračne turbine kod modernih zrakoplova. Također je objašnjen princip rada ove turbine, kao i njen potencijal u poboljšanju efikasnosti sigurnosnih sustava zrakoplova te razvoju avijacije u održivom i ekološki osviještenom smjeru. Nadalje je detaljno opisan postupak provođenja numeričkih analiza (CFD) strujanja fluida oko različitih aeroprofila lopatica RAM turbine. Analize su provedene za pet različitih NACA aeroprofila (NACA 4212, NACA 5212, NACA 5317, NACA 63215 i NACA 63415) te za napadni kut nastruajvanja fluida od 0° i 8°. Rješenja su prikazana vizualno i grafički te analizirana. U rješenjima analize svih aeroprofila vidljivo je povećanje magnitude brzine strujanja fluida s gornje strane aeroprofila, kao i posljedično sniženje tlaka s gornje strane koje rezultira stvaranjem sile uzgona nužne za učinkoviti rad ram turbine. Najveći koeficijent uzgona (Cl) pokazao je aeroprofil NACA 5212, pri napadnom kutu nastrujavanja od 8°.
Abstract (english)
This undergraduate thesis deals with ram air turbines in modern aircraft. Firstly, their role and operating mechanism are described. Secondly, ram air turbines are discussed as a great potential in development of aircraft safety systems alongside a more sustainable and ecologically inclined aircraft development. This is followed by an experimental part of the thesis that deals with numerical analysis (CFD) of the fluid flow around various NACA airfoils for the potential use in ram air turbines. Total of five different NACA airfoils were analyzed (NACA 4212, NACA 5212, NACA 5317, NACA 63215 and NACA 63415) for two different angles of attack (0° and 8°). The results were then visualized, presented and analyzed. All the tested airfoils have shown an increase in speed magnitude on the upper side of the airfoil. Consequently, a lower pressure on the upper side of the airfoil is visible in all of the cases. As a result, this creates a lift force necessary for a successful and more efficient operation of an airfoil, thus the ram air turbine. The highest lift coefficient (Cl) showed airfoil NACA 5212, for the angle of attack of 8°.
