In this paper, the electric crane is described as a type of machine whose role is to raise the load, lower the load and move it horizontally. Cranes use one or more machines to create a mechanical advantage beyond the human ability. Nowadays, cranes are available in a large number of different shapes where each one is customized for its specific use. At the beginning of the work, the types of individual cranes were described by categorizing on mobile and stationary cranes. Mobile cranes are smaller and weaker characteristically, due to their mobility, while stationary cranes have the capability of carrying larger loads and reaching greater heights. The following chapters describe the asynchronous machine as the main drive element in the crane operation. The design of the machine, the mode of operation, the basic characteristics and the types of startup were analyzed. The crane control technology, ie its electromotor drive, load distribution, torque and power for crane drives are described further. At the end of this work, autonomous inverters were analyzed and simulation of the DC conversion in alternating was performed using the three-phase bridge inverter for the drive of the asynchronous machine in the Plecs operation.
