In this paper we have explained various modes of supercharging such as resonant, mechanical and turbocharging. The most important and most widely used is turbocharging because it is simpler to perform and more economical compared to resonant. The mechanically driven compressor consumes engine power and is also impractical to use. Turbochargers are used to drive the flue gas generated as a fuel combustion product and must be able to withstand high temperatures. The main parts of the turbocharger are housing, shaft, blower and turbine. Through the turbine, flue gases pass and run the turbine. The mechanical energy generated from the turbine is transmitted to the blower over the shaft and the blower sucks the air that comes through the inlet pipe in the engine. The purpose of the intercooler is also described in this paper. Furthermore, we have also explained the unfavorable characteristics of the turbocharger. In this paper we used a program that simulates the workings of an engine. In solving the given task, a Lotus program was used, which provides a variety of engine features. In this case, these features are: power, moment, mean effective pressure and specific motor consumption. For each of these features, the program provided the data that we then converted with Excel to diagrams for easier interpretation of data. In the next part of the paper, we tried to get the classic features of the previously obtained engine characteristics. The calculation was done in two ways: with turbocharger and without turbocharger. The process by which we made the calculations is an Otto process that consists of two adiabats and two isochores. By comparing the data obtained from the program and the data we calculated in a classical way, we concluded that the deviations are small. Each calculation step is described in detail in the paper. At last, we observed if the detonation combustion is present in cylinders. We have attached a list of images and data that we have compiled in Excel calculation checklists. There are also assembly schemes of engine and turbochargers, and another view of the engine in isometry.
