Abstract
Diplomski rad prikazuje simulaciju karakteristika šesterocilindričnog automobilskog dizelskog motora sa slobodnim usisom, zapremnine od 2925 cm3 koji je sličan motoru Mercedes-Benz OM656. U radu je opisan princip rada motora s unutarnjim izgaranjem, te vrste i uloga sustava prednabijanja. U računalnom programu Lotus Simulation je izrađen simulacijski model motora s atmosferskim usisom te su dobiveni rezultati prikazani tablično i dijagramom. Potom je u simulacijskom modelu dodan sustav prednabijanja s turbopuhalom kako bi se ispitalo kako sustav prednabijanja djeluje na povećanje izlazne snage i okretnog momenta. Također se provela simulacija koja sadrži sustav prednabijanja zajedno sa sustavom hlađenja zraka za prednabijanje, što rezultira dodatnim povećanjem izlazne snage i okretnog momenta motora. Analiza rezultata ukazala je i na porast vrijednosti srednjih efektivnih tlakova kod motora s prednabijanjem, te smanjenje specifične potrošnje goriva u odnosu na motor sa slobodnim usisom.
Abstract (english)
This Master thesis presents the simulation of the characteristics of a six-cylinder automotive diesel engine with natural aspiration, with a displacement of 2925 cm3, similar to the Mercedes-Benz OM656 engine. The working principle of internal combustion engines is explained, as well as the types and roles of supercharging systems. The simulation model of the engine with natural aspiration was created in the Lotus Simulation computer program, and the obtained results were presented in tabular and diagram form. Then, a supercharging system with a turbocharger was added to investigate how supercharging system increases the engine power and torque. A simulation of the supercharging system with intercooler was also conducted, what results in an additional increase in engine power and torque. Analysis of results show an increase of mean effective pressure and reduction in specific fuel consumption of supercharged engine compared to the naturally aspirated engine.
