Renewable energy sources play a crucial role in the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy sources. The analysis of gathered data reveals a global decline in the share of electricity produced from hydroelectric and nuclear power plants, resulting in a very small annual global increase in the share of clean energy of only 0.27%. Based on the collected data, onshore and offshore wind farms stand out as the most costeffective form of renewable energy. Onshore wind farms achieve a LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) of 33 €/MWh, while offshore wind farms have an LCOE of 75 €/MWh. Both types of wind farms require a small footprint of only 1.5 m2 /MWh, indicating a minimal impact on natural habitats. Additionally, onshore and offshore wind farms show very low environmental impact according to LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) with emissions of only 0.012 kgCO2/MWh for onshore wind farms and 0.016 kgCO2/MWh for offshore wind farms. Tidal power plants, although having great potential, are currently underrepresented and insufficiently researched, as evidenced by their high LCOE of 220 €/MWh. According to the conducted research, it is important to emphasize the need for widespread implementation of rooftop solar panels with rotation capability, as such panels demonstrate significantly higher energy efficiency compared to fixed panels. Specifically, solar panels rotating around one axis achieve an energy efficiency that is 32% higher than fixed panels, while panels rotating around two axes achieve an even higher energy efficiency of 47%. The research conducted within this study highlights the importance of greater implementation of biogas power plants. Methane will be produced through biological processes in waste landfills, this can be prevented by actively collecting biowaste. Considering that methane is 25 times more harmful than CO2, this technology has significant potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
